Ah yet another usual brunch suspect. But wow those scrambled eggs are awesome. Sitting atop freshly baked brioche, that avocado smash was pretty good too. And let’s not forget the hummus.
They’ve got a lovely space out here, with the open garden and the lights strung across the trees. Wonder how it’d look at night?
Tucked away in a not so sleepy block of flats like any true hipster cafe, refuel serves decent grub at decent prices. Love that they have more on the menu than the usual brunch suspects, like this pesto scramble ($12.90). If only the pita bread it was served with was a tad less hard. They do get really crowded at lunch so best be early!
I'll admit, I was sold by the pretty plating. But thankfully it tasted as good as it looked. Great coffee and chill ambiance makes it all the better.
One would use the phrase "not very common" to describe the prices but it doesn't seem to deter the crowds. I preferred their poached eggs but this is a pretty interesting brunch choice, which a phyllo wrapped egg and hummus.
This little cafe is doing great since it opened its doors more than a year and a half ago. What keeps diners coming back is that they serve up pretty decent brunch grub at affordable prices. And those sautéed cremini mushrooms are to die for.
Served with white balsamic, pappadum and red sugar, this is great as a sharing dish.
New kid on the block is giving its neighbours Lokal and The Daily Roundup a run for their money. Easily the two most popular dishes are the scrambled eggs and the pulled pork with grains (even though I'm not a fan of quinoa) - both which were fab. The fact that they're not your usual brunch suspects also scores some points. Either way it looks like the cafe is off to a good start and definitely worth a visit.
Spontaneous decision to have brunch here - middle eastern fusion food served with plenty of spices to whet our appetite. There was no looking back from the first bite. Could not get enough of the mushrooms on toast with Haloumi cheese, nor the fried chicken with its oh so tender meat. A repeat visit is most certainly in order.
Weekend brunch at this lovely Brit inspired cafe in the Kampong Glam area where cafes abound. Loved the whitewashed interiors and posters dedicated to tea. Speaking of which they do have a mighty fine selection of tea too, served in delicately flowered porcelain ware. Grub was pretty good and service was friendly. This cafe certainly scores big.
Hyde & Co's signature Waffles with caramelised bananas, popcorn and a scoop of vanilla icecream - decadence in a mouthful. Perfect way to end a lazy weekend brunch. #cafeculture
Guacamole, grilled cheese, Greek yogurt and poached eggs on toast, $15. Sometimes it's refreshing to go to a brunch place where you find interesting items on the menu instead of the usual suspects. Only gripe was that the cafe was way too cramped and crowded. #coffee #cafeculture
