Chinese New Year Goodies

Featuring a Yuzu pear cake topped with white chocolate koi fishes and mandarin-flavoured macarons! Embracing creativity and the festive season all at once!

It seems like a #dintaifungsg kind of day! 😝 The toppings here are kind of unique. Instead of salmon, we had unagi, crispy taro and crispy salmon skin.
Note to self, never eat Din Tai Fung on weekends, we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for a table and food to be served! 😱

This is a sweet Chinese delicacy 🍬, comprising of eight preservative-free treasures like dried longans, lotus seeds, dried amanatto, roselle, dried kumquat, organic prunes, red bean and candied winter melon. It's also easy to prepare, just need to steam it for 2 minutes before eating!

This black and white sesame green pea cookie is roasted perfectly, so it lends a crunchy texture to the cookie. It's so good that I'm finishing this bag way before CNY!

Double Blessing from @peonyjadesg, comprising of exquisitely handcrafted kumquat 🍊 and peach 🍑 shaped mochi. The former is filled with yuzu-infused white lotus paste and the latter low sugar white lotus and Macademia nuts.
If you want to impress your relatives when they visit, you have to get this! Available at Takashimaya B2's festive market till 6 February 2016 and all Peony Jade restaurants. A set of eight costs $68.88.

Salted egg yolk cookies 🍳, parmesan cheese cookies 🧀, pineapple parmesan tarts 🍍 and green pea cashew cookies ($22/ flavour). I have to say that the parmesan cheese cookies are very addictive, so much that I finished them on the first day.

They are classic mince beef pie, spicy chicken pie and creamy mushroom pie. Their chicken mushroom pie is still my favourite among their 8 flavours though!

The sashimi is flown in from the famous Tsukiji Fish Market. This with a bottle of sake is priced at only $128! Try this if you want something different this year for CNY.

These come in normal size and mini ones (as featured here). A box of 12 mini ones, 6 chocolate and 6 vanilla, costs $17.90. Only 8-10 boxes available a day until sold out! Glad I went there early in the morning!

This comes in two sizes, $38 for 3-4 pax and $48 for 7-10 pax. Not featured here is the generous slices of salmon that come along with the yusheng.
