Malaysia Boleh

Known to some Malaysians as one of the better places to have something local. This plate, have a good wok-hei all the way through, and those quick fire-up is indeed quite delicious but somehow lacking that Malaysian style of cooking.

There is always a queue for their food! Decent and quite close to the real deal. The stall is a good alternative for those who like Penang food. Pretty good wok hei to the noodles, and the flat Long Kway Teow used are quite springy in a sense. Kinda no frills, so don't expect great portion of ingredients. Just a wholesome good stir-fry of noodles, bean sprouts, slices of fish cakes, eggs and a couple prawns.

Probably isn't like the best in JB, but I swear this is good enough for me (seeing how SG's isn't all that awesome). With the RM dropping, every Singaporeans are heading in for the hack of it. I returned to turned myself into Cookie Monster and was hungry, so I randomly walked into this Jem at City Square Mall. Huge chicken, fried to perfection and those golden batter are simply to die for. But the chicken isn't the one that won my heart, but rather it's that spicy God-given Chilli that stole my heart and soul COMPLETELY. Tangy, sweet, and spicy were dancing with my tastebuds. And while it is a tad too spicy for me, I can't help it but to push one cause it is thy addictive. Portion is great and for that price, it's worth that every "mall-penny".

I was expecting Korean style fried rice, but I guess I was expecting too much for a JB cafe. This plate doesn't taste anything kimchi at all, but in fact a plate of extremely delicious sambal fried rice. The wo hei flavours were simply "kapow", explosive and literally blown me away! The spices were on point, and I couldn't stop myself. The cafe is very laidback, with the dingy dirty second-hand vibe of mismatched furnitures. Totally perfect for that lazy Saturday.
