[NEW Menu] [Telok Ayer] [Launch: May 2015] Brunching at this Modern European fare restaurant in the CBD district because I enjoyed the tranquility here during the weekend. Their [NEW] brunch menu is indeed filling and interesting.
Big slab that is good for sharing. Can't resist all the proteins on one plate.

Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich (price not confirmed as it's free today for their opening special) - Crispy fried chicken with tender meat that we all agreed that it's one of the better selection on the menu.

Truffle Egg Burger (SGD 15) - I loved the simplicity. Egg, beef patty, cheese and the aromatic black truffle oil that lingers from far. One of my fav burgers here.

[NEW] [Bugis] [Officially Opened: TODAY]
Opened by the folks behind Pepperoni Pizza, The Pizza Collective is ready to open their doors Today! Offering a mixture of savory and sweet pizza, we can't wait to sink our teeth into the latter!
Topped with bananas and Nutella on a thin crust 10.5 inch pizza, it's the safe choice of combination. Not feeling too guilty too cuz the crust was thin and not too doughy.
Location: Bugis+ Lvl 1
Opening hours: 11am - 10pm (Mon-Sun)
Due to their management regulation, The Daily Press will not be able to do serious frying within their compound. So here comes the 'fried' Chicken, topped with homemade kimchi that is more on the spicy side due to shorter period of fermentation. Chicken is tender and not dry, which is definitely a plus point for me. Serious thoughts have been made for the sandwiches offered here and the proper execution is to be commended.
Brioche french toast with vanilla beans ice cream and caramelised banana and chocolate syrup. The bananas were not sliced, instead it was chopped into small bits that does not fully contain the caramel taste. French toast was well made, fragrant and chewy.
I was told that it was prepared by their Japanese chef. Multi-grain bread is abit dry and hard. Even though the chicken breast meat is well marinated, it is a tad too dry and not juicy, due to long duration of pan frying. The colour of the fried chicken was dark brown instead of golden brown and one look can tell that it had been fried too long. The wasabi mayo dressing is abit light and only applied on the side with greens. In short, i didn't really enjoy eating it and had a difficult time trying to swallow the food. I even ended up drinking a full huge cup of water to swallow it.
Located at the basement level of 313 Somerset, this new cafe that is located everywhere in Australia, sells pies that come in 2 sizes: mini that ranges from $3-4 and normal ones that ranges from $5-6.
Chicken and mushroom ($3) has capsicum based pie filling that is thick and gooey. Crust is well baked and has a nice aroma. Flavour is on the bland side and not distinct.
Chunky steak ($3.30) has a beef stew filling with tomato base. Beef is tender and not too tough and has a nice aroma. The filling is more flavourful as compared to chicken and mushroom.
Buffalo wings that has a sweet and spicy taste due to the thai chilli used. So for non - spicy eaters, this is different from the buffalo wings elsewhere with a tender and flavourful, yet not overly dry.
Served with a generous serving of beef bolognaise on toast and topped with sunny side up that looks like a pair of eyes. Tasty and tender meat sauce that will set your Saturday on the right note
