The batter coating was light and didn't feel overly greasy when bitten into. Very crispy, crunchy and most importantly, fresh. I totally loved the seaweed chicken, ham enoki rolls, prawn rolls, green beans, oyster mushrooms and mantou. Besides fried lok lok, we can also enjoy steamboat lok lok & BBQ lok lok at the same time. Pretty decent selection of dipping sauces - there are 9 types which include Tom Yum, Chilli Crab and Hainanese Chilli.

Good for 4. Seafood was fresh and they were really generous with the gravy. Cracked an egg in and added a little ketchup to balance up the spiciness. Also bought baguette so we can mop up all that sauce. Everything was polished in no time. 😋😄 If you've no time to cook or are expecting guests over for a meal, it's worth giving this zichar delivery a try. 😉
The lamb was pinkish in the middle and was very tender. There wasn’t any gamey smell and the crust topping had a bit of a crisp that kinda added crunch. Absolutely moreish. 👍🏼
Good morning folks. Fancy waking up to a Garlic & Cheese Honey Bread (RM18) from @caffebenemy? Bread is crispy on the outside, soft & fluffy on the inside. It has a lovely buttery fragrance from the salted butter that's spread all over the surface including between the gaps. That cheese on top - it's also deliciously creamy. What's not to like, really. 😍😋👍🏼
Very ordinary when eaten at room temperature. However, if you warm them up in the oven, they would turn slightly molten in the centre. I thought they tasted best when eaten chilled/frozen because the cheesy notes were amplified and the consistency of the filling resembled that of ice cream. Each tart is priced at RM3.80 with a Buy 5 Get 1 Free promo which works out to be RM19 (approx. SGD6) for a box of 6 tarts. An absolute steal. 👍🏼
If you’re a fan of creamy carbonara sauce and cheese, you’ll sure to like this. The cheese flavour really stood out but not in an overwhelming way as the hint of acidity from the balsamic vinegar reduction provided a lovely balance. This warm, cosy restaurant doesn't have a menu. It serves Italian food in omakase style and dishes change periodically depending on availability of seasonal produce. Service was perfectly paced so we had ample time to savour every dish before the next one came. All in all, the food was homely, comforting and some dishes were simply spectacular. 👍🏼
Everything is beautifully deep fried to a crisp and then drenched with a special tendon sauce that's savoury and sweet. They use Nanatsuboshi rice from Hokkaido which is really fragrant and fluffy. There's nothing I don’t like in this bowl. Chicken breast is tender and juicy even though it's quite thick. Prawns are fresh and crunchy. The squid needs no effort to chew. All the vegetables are equally delicious. All in all, this tendon isn't overly greasy or cloying because the frying oil they use is always fresh-tasting and the tempura doesn’t ooze oil when bitten into. I'm happily sprinkling chilli flakes all over my bowl. Can't wait to dig in! 😋
First, it was the heavy shower. Then came the mayhem. Complete war zone. 😱😱 | Anyway, I'm so bloody addicted to this Haru Maki Soft Shell Crab from Genki Sushi. Rice paper rolls with fresh salmon sashimi and crispy fried soft shell crab, dipped in a sweet and savoury sauce that reminded me of hoisin sauce. It was so good, I just had to order 2 more plates. 👍🏼

The Ninniku Yaki Meshi or Japanese Garlic Fried Rice is another must-try. It may look like an ordinary fried rice but it really blows me away with its intense wok hei flavour.

The Special Pork Bone Soup with Ramen has a very flavoursome broth. Noodles are very springy too. And the thickly sliced braised pork belly is so soft and tender – it really reminds me of those Teochew-style braised pork belly. 😋
The flavoursome gravy tasted similar to that of Singapore Chilli Crab but without egg in it. And the more we ate, the more spicy it got. Shiok. The crabs might be small in size but they were meaty. Not overcooked too as the flesh was still quite firm. Mussels tasted clean and the prawns were big, juicy and crunchy. Most of that shrivelled clam meat had fallen off the shells but you would be able to find them back when scooping up the sauce. Do also order their fried mantou (S$6 for 10pcs) - you would need them to mop up all that delicious gravy. 👍🏼
Fresh tasting, not overly salty or oily. Curry leaves lent a lovely fragrance. I was delighted to see lots of salted egg yolk bits at the bottom of the container. Seemed like 真材实料 - real salted egg yolk, not the powder or artificial type. Definitely worth splurging your calories on. Price: S$12.90 per 250g bottle (gross weight).
Consisting of salmon, tuna belly, swordfish and probably one of the sweetest prawns I had ever eaten. All were fresh, chunky and very sweet. 👍🏼😋
