Unlike the Loch Ness monster, the mythological $2 bowl does exist! At the famous "Sungei Road Laksa" stall located within Blk 27 Jalan Berseh, you can still enjoy a bowl of laksa with cockles and finely minced chicken for only two bucks. Granted, it is quite small a portion but the gravy is deliciously flavourful, yet not overloaded with coconut milk. For me, the clincher is that it's cooked over a charcoal fire, which is of course, the secret ingredient to enhancing any dish in the world. Big eaters should order the larger portion or the $2 bowl in multiples.
