Pancakes & Waffles

These stuffed French toast with berries and mascarpone is a sweet treat coated in cornflakes and doused in chocolate sauce. At $18 it is rather pricey, but it is a great option when at MBS, and makes up for it in decadence.

It's may be a little pricey, but this dish is really quite something else -- $22 for 3 thick, fluffy brioche slices dripping in salted caramel sauce and coated in crunchy cornflakes for texture. Topped with salted caramalized bananas, berries and vanilla ice cream, it has the perfect balance of salty and sweet. This is a sinful dish of pure decadence, please, please share.

Replacing the raved-about pancakes from its' former menu, the Brioche French Toast is served either with Berries and Mascarpone, or with Burnt Bananas, Smoked Bacon and Maple Butter. If you're going for something more substantial, the latter is a better option. Of course, the best thing to come to Riders for is the perfectly relaxing ambience of lush greenery and fresh air.

The French toast at Maison Ikkoku is served either with fresh berries, or sea salt caramel. Two large pieces of toast drenched generously with sea salt caramel, topped with roasted walnuts, caramelised bananas and mascarpone cream cheese with a cinnamon-coated orange. If you like sweet desserts, this will be perfect for sharing!

What's truly enticing about a good French toast is a balance of salty and sweet, and the one at Ronin totally nails it with their Brioche French Toast with Stewed Pear, Crispy Bacon and Hazelnut Butter. The crispy bacon is just salty enough to offset the maple syrup, and the pear is so soft and juicy. This can be easily finished by one person, and you may not want to share anyway. As always, be sure to have a coffee here.

If you're approaching French Toast as a dessert, this one will satisfy you. Served as 2 slices of brioche stuffed with bananas and drenched in maple syrup, vanilla yoghurt and blueberries, this is sweet and decadent without being too heavy. The texture and portion is perfect, definitely a must order!

This brand new cafe along Evans Road highly recommends their salted caramel waffles, which are light, fluffy and tasty. The coffee here is decent too. Needless to say, this cafe will please the Bukit Timah folks!

Already known for their great brunch items, such as their Flan (which you should get before these waffles), Symmetry also nails the waffle. At $14, bananas, strawberries, peanut butter, hazelnut chocolate, maple syrup and vanilla ice cream sit atop crispy, fluffy waffles. Get an extra scoop of blueberry ice cream for a near-perfect dish!

At only $3.50 for a homemade waffle, this comes at a pretty good value. Pick a couple of their unique ice cream flavours to go along with the crisp waffle, $3 for a single and $5 for a double scoop. Go for their Salted Caramel and the Horlicks Tim Tam flavours.

Priced at $13.50, this stack of 3 red velvet pancakes come with addictive homemade cream cheese frosting, and are the perfect complement to the large serving of truffle fries you know you're going to have. Great for those who simply love red velvet!

At $12.90, this amazing Waffles Stacko is truly a steal. A great choice when you're in the town area, this simple cafe is great for indulging in ice cream and hot, crispy waffles. Perfect for students and groups of friends, get a nice big stack to share! If you're a small party, go for the Sinfully Chocolate or the Merry Berry.
