🌇A Place In Time🌄
Just love passing by this traditional bakery along the shophouses leading to the Whampoa Food Centre. That aroma of freshly baked bread (some say from the yeast), those racks of freshly baked local style roti and that buzz of activity even till late at night. And I know, that one day it will soon be walking into the history books of our traditional shophouse bakery. This is well knowned to be the supplier of one of our household name in local kaya toast chain. The bread they produce are no frill simple white bread with a few variation. The plain white comes with offer of spreads (kaya-orange type, butter and/ or peanut butter). They also sell the crusty brown bread used in kaya toast. Replicating that crusty sandwich of Kaya and butter becomes a mere effort of putting the ready made toast to a toaster or airfryer these days. See my other post on their other signature curry bun, freshly baked close to midnight.
High ceiling brick walled dining hall with seats on 3 different mezzanine levels.
A happy hawker is a good hawker, being contended with the smiles and conviction from repeat customers. Better than any other accolades.
