Not Worth The Price
In order to avoid the crowd, I waited till 3pm before heading from my camping position in starbucks to give this noodles a try. And I still needed to queue at 3pm :/ . The place is really quite authentic with them using cantonese to take orders and they even had that special chili that I see in almost all wanton noodle places in HK. Fast forward to the noodles, the noodles are indeed the same, however the wontons and dumplings shrank to 70% of the original size of those in HK. The soup was not super salty, initially still acceptable until 15 mins later I could feel a salty taste still lingering in my mouth... Having expected the size of the wonton mee to be really puny, I ordered the wonton with dumplings to a "larger" bowl of noodles at $8.50. Although I should have expected the service charge but it still hurt my feelings to have paid $9.35 for a bowl of wonton noodles that I finished in 5 mins. Unless you are really in the craving to have some "real" hk style wonton mee, I wouldn't recommend this place especially with the ongoing queues... The wontons and dumplings maintained its quality but not quantity. Oh, if one haven been to hk before you can give this a try, then assure yourself that you will have a better one there when you manage to eat the original one in HK! (I recommend the version in Jordan's!)
Was missing hk a little, the menu said that it was the first to bring in hk style wonton mee but oh well I was quite disappointed. Soup was saltier than usual and although there were 4 wontons, each only had a single shrimp and again it was too salty. The only positive point about the dish was the noodles which were almost the same as the one in HK
The Tom yam noodles tasted similar to those Maggie Mee kind but the texture was still pretty acceptable. However, the prawns doesn't seem to be fully cooked despite the chef claiming so. Won't be coming back for food in awhile.
I will say that I was really disappointed by this old stall, despite the above average taste, the serving given for a $4 meal in the hawker centre was not generous as I thought it would be, I will recommend this who doesn't like to queue during peak hours.
Noodles are too spicy and salty
A place not very worth it's price and I had to tank this bill... Food was okay okay
Looks nice but don't taste nice. Pork was too overwhelming while broth was too salty
