Meh
Roasted beef don was disappointing. For $12.80, portion was decent but the beef came cold and was slightly sinewy. It came medium/rare (in the middle).
Alfresco Gusto serves only weekend brunch menu on Sundays till 5pm so I didn't get to try other food.
Gusto Big Breakfast ($26++) - choice of eggs, hash brown, streaky bacon, pork sausage, grilled tomato, sautéed mushrooms and what seems to taste like pumpkin purée, with soft brioche. Food was okkkk nothing fantastic.
Grilled Parma ham sandwich ($22) - focaccia layered with Parma ham (that was nothing outstanding) glued by some buffalo cheese to the bread, with bland scrambled eggs, and a side of fries that were too salty. Their salt must be free idk. Mummy felt sad eating this and left half the plate untouched.
The only saving grace was my smoked salmon Benedict ($24++) which was pretty satisfying.
Also got hot dog with scarmorza cheese from the kids menu. Pretty normal for $8, hot dog kinda reminded us of IKEA's....
So well overall, brunch was quite a disappointment.
Well this wasn't bad the tomato cream was quite flavourful to me, but nope not a good experience. Check out the closed mussel shell that they happily placed as a centerpiece (I was told closed = dead, right????) Told the supervisor, who didn't apologise for it and merely "so you want me to get a new one?". Well uh yep and maybe get a new, more positive body language while you're at that. But yeah at least she did. The second plate had nicely opened mussel shells but the clam shells were closed. QC, maybe?
Spanish stall in a foodcourt! With legit giant paella pan. This Churros was meh, a little cloying and too hard oh well.
If there's anything I really really dislike this is it. Pretty sure it's not because of my cafe ventures that I've become picky about my coffee cos' I'm not alone, two other friends who tried it on different occasions hated it too. The smell of honey is overpowering (and it's not the nice kind of honey hahaha)
Served with chocolate ganache, $9. Texture was great nicely crisp on the outside and soft on the inside but there was a distinctive taste of oil (the kind that tastes like it was re-fried many times?). So nope nope nope!!! I'm hoping it's just a one time thing but I won't be back anytime soon.
At $15++ this was disappointing. Looked like prata, thought it tasted nothing like how quesadillas should be. This was oily and soggy. Can't remember what were the fillings heh but it was decent.
Too watery, overcooked pasta
$38+ for takeaway. Portion was good for 4 but tasted mediocre. They gave a lot of yam and fishball, duck web (stuff that we don't really fancy). Other ingredients include radish, pork belly, pigskin, mushroom, broccoli, prawn, sea cucumber, chicken and duck. Gravy was flavourful but the quality of ingredients wasn't impressive. Don't think I'll order it again.
Crispy soft shell crab was alright, tiny portion. $11. Lobster roll wasn't good, i don't think it was because I've tried Burger&Lobster before😂. At $14 - bread was dry, sauce wasn't fantastic, but at least I could taste chunks of the lobster flesh.
$15. Looked better than it tasted; there was hardly any truffle taste
Pricey - had milo dino with this and it costed almost $10 (food is kinda meh too)
