The restaurant also functions as a karaoke place with several rooms meant for singing your heart out. Back to the food, start off with the refreshing and spicy 酸辣凉皮 ($9.80), bean jelly doused in a hot and sour sauce with fermented black beans in it. It was imperative that you order the signature 老四川辣子鸡 ($26.80) which might be a tad expensive but the spicy and numbing boneless chicken bites are a joy to eat. End off with the 红糖糍粑 ($8.80) which are strips of brown sugar mochi-ish cake.

We know the Chinese invented gunpowder. But they probably invented the first bar-bite as well. The small portion comes in a HUGE plate. Because of the sheer volume of fried chilli on it. Three levels of spice for the curious or sadomasochist. This is 麻more than 辣. Look at the crates of 雪白and青岛 around and you know is legit. Opens till 1-2am so is a different kind of supper spot. My go-to 川菜馆 atm. Edit- the branch at Middle Road has closed. This is the one at 9 Selegie Road (S) 18009

If this doesn't wet your appetite, not sure what will. The way the century egg is chilled, they way its plated with lots of pickled chopped green chili and drizzle in teh peppercorn spiked chili oil brings together to give this otherwise ordinary century egg appetizer dish.
