Natural light streams in from the partially-clear ceiling and through the glass facade overlooking the garden, and the quaintness of the premises scored the building a feature in a popular Japanese TV series. The dessert is no vapid bimbo - it manages to astound with not just its exquisite looks but also its riotously sweet and sour medley of taste, with the bottommost layer of alcoholic and torturingly tart red wine-esque gelée leaving a whip-sharp impression.

This is my favourite dessert from the fine dining meals I've had during this trip, and - notably - this is also the only non-Michelin star restaurant. Heh.
