I love the kushiyaki joint here. Price ranged from RM5 - RM15. They open 7 days a week from 6pm - 12am!

Either u love it or hate it. Raw egg rice is superb for RM11 per bowl. Don't worry, there's no raw egg smell. Just add a lil bit of soy sauce and voila! Good meal 😋 yums!

On the nights when you finish work a little later than expected, reward yourself with satiating skewers and a drink (or two) at Koikeshoten. Bring a friend for company and sit by the counter to watch chef Norio Koike fire up the grill for your made-to-order goodies. The Unagi justifies its hefty RM25 price tag as it arrives glistening and ready to melt in your mouth, while the Wagyu Beef (RM21) sees four skewered cubes of juicy, succulent beef. Then there's the delicious Bishop's Nose (RM4) — albeit lesser known, the chicken rump has a distinctive crispy yet fatty texture that is absolutely delightful! If you're feeling generous, splurge on a bottle of warming sake (from RM108). Otherwise, the bar is unlacking with selections of beer, whiskeys and shochu (a Japanese spirit) to offer.

Led by experienced kushiyaki chef Norio Koike, the new grill and bar along Jalan Telawi promises fantastic skewers and that, it delivers. The unagi (RM25) is presented with in a dark and gorgeous manner and the same can be said of its taste — delicately sweet and salty, with a moist tenderness. Also gather courage to attempt the uncommon parts like bishop's nose (chicken rump), chicken gizzards or perhaps the easily loved chicken skin. There's no better place than this to be a little adventurous. Koike Shoten is also one of the rare spots that serve free-range chicken sashimi (RM25) and it's absolutely safe to eat. Or so I heard haha.
