The skin is a little thick but yet it is still soft, QQ and supple in body. The gummy texture of the skin is very fun to chew on and I would not mind if it is even thicker. The black sesame glutinous rice flour is fragrant and filled generously with 'chai poh' (aka 'preserved dried radish'). The lingering sweetness and umami saltiness of the Chai Poh ticks in at all the right boxes on my palate. They are aromatic and nicely flavoured with the right amount of oil in it. (On first glance, it looks like poop. But after having my first bite, I could not stop myself from having another 2 to 3 more of this super delicious poop 😂)

Ok! on first impression, it doesn't look tempting. It doesn't have that distinct mold shaped marks on its surface like how a traditional AngKu would have and the colour yellow is not helping either. However, don't judge a book by its cover. The coconut fillings is crunchy, sweet and taste exactly like 'Coconut Barfi'(Indian coconut candy). The nyonya kuihs here are all handmade by an old lady who was bored of sitting at home and decided to pass her time by selling her home-baked kuihs. So do come early as her kuihs are of limited stock.
