This was slight on the milky side with less bitter aftertaste of the usual lattes I drink. But still loved it!
If you’re in for simple scones and fluffy cakes, do give a try Hideaway’s butter cake/fluffy sponge cake varieties.
For an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, find respite in this cosy cafe in Section 17 over tea and cakes. The traditional butter cakes here might look simple, but they make up for it in solid flavour. Go with Burppler Serena Ho’s recs for the bestselling Pandan Gula Melaka (RM10) and Banana Pecan Raisin (RM11) — the latter is especially loved for its well-balanced flavours and loose, airy texture.

This is one of their best sellers.
The cake isn’t overly green like some pandan cakes, so it looks more natural. The cake itself isn’t sweet. The sweetness is in the topping, which is where the gula Melaka is. Oddly you can taste the sweetness but can’t smell unique fragrance that comes with gula Melaka.
This is RM10.
The first thing that hit me when I entered this shop, the smell of cakes! Love it!
The banana pecan cake is one of their best sellers. The cake was moist and loose. The cake and the raisins are not overly sweet. The cake is well balanced in flavour. Love it!
This is RM11.
Always remember: do not judge a cake by it’s appearance - it’s homemade cakes might looks ordinary and nothing much to shout about, but hey, give it a try - turned out it was so yummy!
