Our community’s go-to sandwich joint introduces new brunch items! Sink your teeth into the Croque Madame ($16), which sandwiches ham and a perfect sunny-side up with cheesy béchamel sauce. Sweet-toothed Burpplers, your best bet will be the fluffy and custardy French Toast ($14), topped with peach compote, vanilla mascarpone cream, maple syrup and nut brittle. Save your weekends for these; but in case they run out, the staple Cubano ($16) and Patty Melt ($17) sandwiches never fail.

Revamped Menu at Birds of a Feather

Birds of a Feather’s new menu features even more Sichuan-inspired dishes that pack a punch. Don’t be quick to strike off the Bird’s Not Stinky Tofu ($16). While it mimics the funky taste of fermented tofu with a Vieux Lille cheese stuffing, it’s much more toned down and very tasty when paired with the pickled beetroot and crunchy fried soy beans. For spice lovers, the Sweating Mussels ($29) is a great choice that promises heat with their spicy and sour nage. Old favourites die hard, so rejoice that the Spicy Oriental Bolognaise ($22) and Find The Chicken In The Chillies ($16) are still on the menu. Look to their new beverage list for refreshing cocktails to cleanse your palate between those flavour-packed dishes.

From classy Western delights to Italian comfort food, take your pick from d’Good Cafe’s refreshed menu at Ngee Ann City. Out of the many new dishes, Burpplers are loving the Ben In The Woods ($19.50), a winning version of eggs Benedict. Poached eggs lie over a bed of creamy mash and crispy potato shreds, topped with sauce périgeux (truffle paste and wine sauce) and freshly shaven black truffles. The team has also kept some of their crowd-pleasers on the menu, including the hearty and decadent Lobster Roll ($26) and Poached Fresh Lobster Pasta ($30).
