For A Cosy Coffee Date
Head down to this Scandinavian-style cafe in Siglap for the exquisite combination that is coffee and sangas - an Australian slang for sandwiches. You're in for a fulfilling breakfast or lunch combination with savoury sandwiches like Tonkatsu ($18), Grilled Mushroom & Eggplant ($17), or PB & Strawberry Basil ($15) for a sweeter taste of housemade strawberry basil jam. Burppler Xing Wei Chua particularly recommends the Tamagoyaki Avocado Bacon Sanga ($18) for its smashed avocado, grilled bacon, tamagoyaki, Japanese mayonnaise and basil yoghurt sauce - all "reconstructed" and "felt comforting in a way similar to a big breakfast platter"!

Discover the best of grilled meats with KOAL, a new casual diner that marries Asian flavours with both Western and Eastern grilling techniques. Dig into their specially-curated dinner menu offering Salmon with Kimchi Butter Sauce ($18) featuring grilled salmon fillet, grilled kale and chive oil, or Iberico Pork Chop ($28) that you can complement with an array of sauces like Yakiniku no Tare, and more. Burppler Miss Merlot also recommends their US Beef ($42 for 3 course) for its "hearty beef don" that comes with onsen egg, ikura, mushrooms and charred broccoli.

For a Coffeeholic Experience
Need your daily dose of caffeine? Stop by this hole in the wall cafe in Bukit Merah for some humble brews - White ($5), Black ($4.50), Chocolate ($5.50), and Aeropress ($6) - for something a little more artisanal. Feeling peckish? You won't go wrong with light bites such as Chocolate Chip Cookie ($3.50) or delicious Lemon Bar ($5) which comes with a crumbly New York-style cheesecake at the bottom. Indeed, Burppler Xing Wei Chua strongly recommends the lemon bar "worked especially well with the Black and the Aeropress coffees - the lemon curd’s punchy zing definitely did provide quite a kick"!
