Michelin Guide Singapore 2022

Celebrating its 6th anniversary this year, the Michelin Guide Singapore has revealed its Michelin Star restaurant selection for 2022.

2 restaurants have been promoted to Two Michelin Stars, namely Cloudstreet and Thevar. The former promises to deliver an unforgettable gastronomic journey that marries disparate cultures and influences in an artistic expression, and the latter’s creative multi-course menu that is rooted in Indian tradition and crafted with European techniques has received praise for its fascinating combination of flavours.

Both of these restaurants join 5 other restaurants with Two Michelin Stars: JAAN by Kirk Westaway, Saint Pierre, Shisen Hanten, Shoukouwa, and Waku Ghin.

There were also 7 new restaurants which have been awarded One Michelin Star. Of these, 4 are making their debut in the 2022 edition: the 12-seater kappo sushi restaurant Hamamoto, the nature-inspired Marguerite, the ever innovative NAE:UM, and contemporary establishment Rêve.

In other news, Singapore’s first Welcome & Service Award went to Samantha Goh of Two Michelin Starred Saint Pierre, and the Sommelier Award winner was Eric Eu of Three Michelin Starred Les Amis.

Alongside these two new awards categories is the Young Chef Award which recognises a young chef working in a Michelin-starred restaurant for their exceptional talent and great potential. This year’s Young Chef was Seoul-born Louis Han of One Michelin Starred NAE:UM which has been commended for its exceptional Korean cuisine.

All in all, a total of 52 restaurants have been awarded stars. This includes 3 restaurants with three stars, 7 restaurants with two stars, and 42 establishments with one star.
