In light of the global food supply concerns brought on by the pandemic, a sustainable foods section, courtesy of Feed9B, will be added to the Singapore Restaurant Week.
Feed9B has gathered 14 local food brands in food innovation and sustainability, along with 11 restaurants and chains to collaborate and create unique menus that will showcase new food forms to consumers. These include plant-based beef and chicken from local food technology companies, along with the first soy alcoholic beverage.
Dishes to look out for include 1826’s Truffle Beef Mushroom Tart which comprises Thoughtful Foods plant-based meats, Love Handle’s Yaki Udon that’s made of Kosmode Health’s W0W® Noodle and in-house plant-based minced meat, Yum Cha’s Chicken Dumplings in Chilli Oil which consists of Shandi Global’s plant-based chicken, and Cali's Vrab plant-based Crab Meat Pasta.
Consumers who have sampled the specially curated menus created by participating restaurants will be able to give their first impressions on the dishes. This feedback will in turn help local manufacturers make further improvements on their products, and at the same time, pave the way for more dining establishments to embark on serving sustainable food in the near future.
The Feed9B Singapore Restaurant Week runs island-wide at participating restaurants from 5 to 11 September 2022. For more details, visit their official website.Â
