For Fine Dining With A View
Located on the 4th floor of Hotel Jen and overlooking the beautiful Puteri Harbor, Sky Bar is a bar and restaurant that serves a variety of dishes ranging from western to Italian. Open up with starters and snacks, such as the seafood combination they call the Friturra (RM28), which is a plate of deep fried baby cuttlefish, red snapper, and prawns served with tartar sauce, the portion is good enough to share between two people. For mains, splurge on the rib-eye steak (RM72), a good cut of beef cooked to juicy perfection, or the char grilled tiger prawns (RM55), which is bound to impress the most blasé of dates. Pizzas and pastas are also on the menu, and we would recommend the Riviera (RM30) for those who are vegetarian. This pizza is made with feta cheese, tomatoes, olives, artichoke, capsicum and mushrooms. Don't forget desserts! Try the Baked Alaska (RM22), which is a dessert consisting of chocolate ice cream layered vanilla and strawberry cake, topped with browned meringue. But wait! There's more! On the 12th and 13th of February (starts at 6.30pm) they're having a shell out buffet for RM338 per couple, all manner of crustaceans and shellfish ready for your consumption, find out more here.
Chez PapaPhoto By Burppler Joyz X.
For French Cuisine
French is the language of love, so it wouldn't be too far fetched to say that their food is equally arousing. Chez Papa located Taman Maju Jaya is a French bistro and wine bar that serves Hors-D’oeuvres (starters/appetizers), Soupes (soups), Salades (salads) Viandes (meats), Marée (seafood), Pâtes (pasta), as well as Fromage (cheese) and desserts (yes dessert is a French word, you're learning the language one meal at a time). They open at 5pm Monday to Saturday, so it's a perfect place for a romantic dinner. If both you and your date are adventurous start off with the Escargots de Bourgogne (RM28 for 6 pieces), which are snails baked with garlic butter and parsley, as an appetizer, or the Coquilles saint Jacques en Gratin (RM32), which if you cant tell from the name, is cockles (scallops actually) and prawns with a gratinated white wine cream sauce. For mains try have some lamb loin cutlets with rosemary gravy mashed potatoes and ratatoulile called the Cotelettes D’agneau (RM76), or grilled seabass fillet with parsley-garlic butter-lemon sauce and spinach, which is the Filet de Poisson Persillade (RM65). The menu is rather broad, so check it out here.

For BBQ And Great Décor
Located in the industrial area of Kota Puteri, this well hidden bbq smokehouse (which is borderline fine dining) sports a very intricate interior. A combination of industrial, rustic and natural all in one, with steel supports lining the ceiling, wooden furniture, and an abundance of greenery in and out. The scenery is a feast for the eyes indeed, but don't forget to have a feast for your belly. Since they open as early as 10am brunch is definitely on the menu, try the signature big brother benedict (RM42), which is an egg benedict, decorated with bits of grilled beef and covered by a healthy serving of hollandaise sauce, all resting on two English muffins, great for sharing between two people.

For An Italian Dining Experience
Smack dab on the 14th of February, Gianni's is having a special Valentines menu just for the lovebirds of Johor. This one is a little on the extra side as it costs RM335 per person, but it's a special day so forking out a little more cash to let your date experience a romantic 4 course meal makes it entirely worth it. First course includes a Aperitivo Italiano, which is a salad of bocconcini (dried mozzarella cheese), along with heirloom tomatoes and basil vinaigrette. Second comes the Piccolo Pinocchio, which is escargot prepared in the style of Italian chef Giuseppe Crupi. For the third course you have a choice of either fish, beef or lamb. For fish you get Alaskan cod, prawns, spinach salad, a drizzle of white balsamic vinegar and pomegranate for some tarty sweetness to balance the flavors of the ocean. If you picked the beef you can expect medium rare tenderloin cuts cooked perfectly on the outside while retaining tenderness within, oysters, caviar, sautéed spinach and a sauce made from shallots. As for the lamb, you'll be treated to Australian lamb racks flavored with a reduction made of its own fatty juices, and a side of veggies. The final course is of course dessert, where you'll get palate and eye pleasing tiramisu cake with Arabeschi designs on it. The cake also comes with chocolate hazelnut sauce to sweeten the deal even more. To book a slot you can call Gianni's at 016-7037152, and a down payment of RM100 is required to secure the booking.
