For Conversations Over Tea
Probably known as the ultimate hipster tea spot, this cafe definitely holds its own when it comes to tea-centric beverages and cakes. Rich and dense, their fragrant Matcha Cake ($9.90) is a must-try, featuring flavourful matcha sponge and matcha cream with a layer of sweet azuki (red bean) paste. For something less sweet, opt for the Matcha Mont Blanc ($9), an earthy twist on the classic mont blanc. Wash it all down with their wonderfully silky Matcha Hojicha Latte ($6).

For Matcha Cookie Sandwiches
Located at level 2 of 104 Tanjong Pagar Road, spot this latest speciality gelato shoppe offering gelato and intricate entremets that are all made in-house and have gelato elements to them! Burppler Wei Ping Ang highly recommends their Cookie Sandwich Matcha Goma ($7) with spectacular ice cream, as "this dessert is made for the goma to shine, and the matcha flavour mainly comes from the matcha cookie, which comes through at the end when you finish the goma!"

Get the delectable Chocolate Matcha Cake ($7, $63 for 8") with rich chocolate truffle and green tea cream - a total winner in our books! As Burppler Kele puts it, "The chocolate mixed so well with all that matcha and nothing was too creamy". Pair their cakes with tea and you're all sorted!

For Soft Serve Matcha Parfaits
Tsujiri is best known for its matcha desserts for all the right reasons. It's arguably the best place to quell your cravings for matcha ice cream. The soft serve here is dense, smooth and not too sweet, such that you can taste the slightly bitter matcha or hojicha. You can get just the soft serve in a cone, but if you're feeling a little more indulgent, go for the Warabimochi Matcha Parfait ($8.50) which comes with a mixture of toppings such as mochi, azuki paste and matcha chiffon cake.

For Dirty Matcha and More
Located in the quaint Waterloo Street, this Kyoto-born brand gets our vote for quiet afternoons with excellent coffee. The Dirty Matcha ($7.50), or matcha latte espresso, is a unique and delicious choice, showcasing smooth Matcha Latte spiked with a nutty espresso shot. You can also give their regular Matcha Latte ($6.50, $7.50 for iced) a try, made using premium Morihan matcha powder from Kyoto.
