Sambal Sotong and Fried Chicken are two of the great side dishes here. The fried chicken smelled amazing and was juicy and tender on the inside. On the other hand, the Sambal Sotong is cooked to perfection. The sotong portions were pretty large, and the sambal was quite hot.
Nasi Lemak Wanjo does not scrimp on sotong portions, and the sizes of each sotong were rather large compared to other nasi lemak places, making it a great value for money. Nasi Lemak Wanjo's sambal is sweet, but don't let that deter you if you prefer spicy sambal. It was quite tasty, moderately spicy, and went nicely with the fragrant santan rice.

The number of people lined up to get into the restaurant will quickly identify the establishment. Village Park is known for their aromatic and flavourful crunchy fried chicken. Most people would just order that with no other side dishes since the size of fried chicken is enough to send you to food coma. But if you feel that is not enough, their sambal sotong, sambal kerang and their rendang deserves a nod too.

The chicken taste was unusual in that it tasted almost like muruku. Looking at it closely there’s some of Indian spices like cumin and fennel seeds, which explains the distinct flavour. The fragrant rice was accompanied by a big helping of sambal. It wasn't spicy at first, but it was well-balanced with a sense of sweetness, which comes from the onion chunks.
