Set within Furama Riverfront, this long-standing hotel restaurant sports a convivial setting that’s perfect for big groups. The true blue Indonesian chef who runs their kitchen has built a reputation for doling out tasty Indonesian eats, from street food-inspired Ta Hu Goreng (included in buffet price from $45) to Balinese bites like Sate Lilit Bali ($20) and Ayam Goreng Kalasan (roasted spring chicken, $25). For an offbeat celebration with family and friends, come for the quality buffet spread! Given the significant role that rice plays in an Indonesian meal, this one’s set to be a satisfying, food coma-inducing feast.

Could this be the hottest hot pot place in Chinatown? This Keong Saik road contender spotlights Sichuan-style hot pot, and the cosy, supperclub-like space and attentive service make it a prime spot for a late night steamboat sesh with the girls. Their buzzing Authentic Sichuan Spicy Soup ($21) is a must-have, but make sure you go half-and-half to also try their House Special Soup ($19) — a hearty broth made by simmering pork bones, old hens, fish and fish bones for over six hours. There is also a slew of spot-on signature Sichuan dishes on the menu! Order the Ma Po Tofu ($12) for a light, tongue-tingling side or go big with the addictive Sichuan Spicy Chicken ($22).

Furama City Centre’s Tiffany Cafe may not be the hippest or newest of hotel restaurants, but it’s fuss-free and comfortable, and their versatile buffet has surely got the chops to please your party. The spread features good variety, with multiple stations for both local and international eats. Burppler Veronica Phua favours the former, having thoroughly enjoyed her tasty Mee Siam and Roti Prata with fish curry. Whether you’re the kind of buffet-goer who plays it safe with the simple, satisfying stuff (all the ice cream and waffles you can eat) or goes for gold at the seafood station (fresh, thick cuts of salmon sashimi), there will be something here to satiate hungry tummies.
