Tripitaka journeyed to the West to collect sutras. I journeyed to the West to eat lor mee.
This is probably one of the best lor mee stalls remaining in Singapore. Their bowl of lor mee comes packed full of ingredients - - - braised egg, fish cake slices, fried fish, and fried pork ball.
Their gravy is lighter and less starchy compared to other stalls but I kinda prefer this with loads of garlic and a dash of vinegar. I am not a big fan of their shredded fish (go xin mei xiang if this is what you are going for) which is rather mild tasting. The meat balll though is their main selling point. It is crispy on the outside and sweet and juicy on the inside. They used to allow you to "jia rou wan" but have stopped doing so in recent years because everyone did that and they often sell out the meat balls before they sell out their lor mee.
This is one bowl of lor mee which makes the long arduous trip west worthwhile.
