Known for its dark umami herbal broth, the popular pioneering @KeeHiongSG (since 1940s) has recently opened its 2nd outlet at Alexandra Hospital Garden Cafe ❤️ With a blend of over 16 medicinal herbs including danggui, dangshen, goji, licorice roots, red dates & yuzhu, the broth is the kind I’ll go for anytime any day. Heavenly aromatic with a boost of natural sweetness & touch of irresistible oomph! This goes so well with any classic side dishes you have in BKT, not to mention its nourishing properties, ideal of its location.

We’ve tried the Signature Tua Kut (Big Bone) Soup ($9.50) that features an enormous leg bone larger than my fist, the meat was fall off the bone tender & succulent after absorbing much of the energising broth. I’ve also had one of the best Dry Bak Ku Teh ($8.80) here that hit all the right notes on colour, aroma & taste. Essentially an unassuming pot of glistening, melts-in-your-mouth fatty pork belly, chewy bits of cuttlefish, crunchy thin-sliced okra & dried chili which brought out the colour. I was totally sold, I swear I wanted more.
