The chicken tan tan ramen available for a limited time (?) at Ichikokudo Hokkaido Ramen is a 10 out of 10 for me. It's not like your usual clear or very light broth. This one packs a punch with its creamy white sesame and chicken/seafood broth that's topped with mala spiciness. It's yummy umami to the max. (For those whose insides churn at the word mala don't fear, it's more of the 小辣 (mild spicy) and definitely not  大辣 (extreme spicy) 😉) I added an onsen egg to the bowl for an additional $1.50

Why I like this is because it really took me back to the ramen I had at the raumen museum in yokohama years ago. Back then halal ramen was very hard to find. I was lucky that my host took pains to cook a special bowl of ramen using halal ingredients from tohoku. I think they knew Singaporeans love their spices and that bowl was so umami yet spicyliciously hot that I was sweating despite it being in the thick of winter. So this Tan Tan Ramen felt so authentic like the one I had in Japan all those years back. .
