Nobu-ya is a famous authentic Japanese izakaya located at level 1 of Fortune Centre. The basic izakaya rules apply and everyone has to order drinks to dine here hence this is not a place for you if you don’t/can’t drink.
The menu always changes based on the availability of ingredients. My favourite is the perfectly grilled miso red perch that was melt-in-the-mouth tender with a delicate buttery texture. The sake-steamed asari clams were fresh and plump, served steaming hot in a light and clear sake broth. Soy braised pork belly was soft, tender and flavourful, accompanied by greens for the extra crunch. I also tried their Japanese fried rice with pacific saury and mushroom which was tasty but maybe a little fishy for some. Overall it’s a great place to chill out with friends after work without burning a hole in your pocket.
