I was so enticed by the yummilicious-looking pictures and posts by the Burpple Tastemakers, I had to try The Chinatown Stall by Soup Restaurant @ NAC B2 Food Hall.

My personal favorite was the Collagen Soup ($6.90). Not only it warms the stomach, the thought of me absorbing all these rich collagen just excites me. 😇 The taste is as good as those served in restaurants.

The one that I kept craving for more was the XO Shrimp Roe Noodles with Water Chestnut Meat Balls ($6.90). It was super duper savory. Not only the sauce (XO+shrimp roe) was addictive, the water chestnut meat balls surprised me. I love the cruchiness from the water chestnuts but I fell deeply in love that they used chunks of pork meat in the meat balls which give a very good bite and flavor. They even included an egg inside! When the watery egg yolk oozed out and mixed with the noodles and XO shrimp roe.... that's it.. I'm sold. 😋

I found the Salted Egg Fried Tofu ($4.50) less appealing after tasting the soup and noodles. I would give it a miss next time as it was not very spectacular and there are better ones outside.

The Steamed Pearl Rice with Chicken and Samsui Ginger Sauce ($6.50) is a must try since it's from the Soup Restaurant. They gave very generous amount of the famous Samsui Ginger Sauce which was flavorful and sweet. Yes, it was sweet in a savory sense. Ironic, I know. The chicken was slightly overcooked but it was okay for me. I think the portion is suitable to be shared among two people if you are not a rice-person. 😊
