Fast forward to Phase 2 now, they have opened their new outlet at KINEX with a new menu launch as well. My favourite from their new bento launch is the UMMA’s Bibimbap ($11.90), which is a rendition of the traditional Korean mixed rice dish and each bento is colourfully arranged with carrot strips, cucumber strips, shiitake mushroom, scallions, pickled daikon, seasoned spinach (which you usually get as a side dish at Korean restaurants), minced chicken and sunny side up egg, all on a bed of brown rice. You will get a side of their own blend of gochujang sauce which you have to mix in well with all the ingredients before eating. The other two new bento boxes that we have tried include the Seafood Paella ($10.90), a Spanish classic of flavourful brown rice cooked with sofrito, a seafood mix of shrimps, squid and clams, served with dollops of garlic aioli and a wedge of lime to provide some zing, and the Norwegian Salmon Roast ($15.90) that is oven roasted, topped with a puttanesca sauce and, served with green pea mash, roasted capsicums and asparagus.
Besides having these healthy foods, Omni Kitchen also provides several refreshing beverage options and I highly recommend the Yakult Fizz ($3.90), an upgraded version of the usual yakult drink, and this time round, fresh passionfruit, honey and sparkling water are mixed in together. The Passionfruit Fruit Spritzer ($3.90) and Virgin Mojito ($3.90) are the two other concocted drinks that uses fresh fruits and juice, a perfect complement to your meal at Omni Kitchen.
