Despite passing by the kopi tiam just next to Hougang Mall numerous times, it was only recently that I discovered these โ€œpiglet bunsโ€ from the coffee stall.

Fluffy buns shaped like a pigโ€™s head with raisins for eyes, they come with three different fillings: pork chop ($3.80), chicken cutlet ($3.80), and ham & egg ($3.50). Or simply get the set (plus two eggs and a coffee/ tea) for $5.80.

The ๐—–๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—–๐˜‚๐˜๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜ ๐—•๐˜‚๐—ป, with a humongous piece of chicken that was delightfully deep fried, immediately caught my attention. Crispy and juicy, it was excellent.

I initially gave the ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ธ ๐—–๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ฝ ๐—•๐˜‚๐—ป a condescending look as the slab of pork was pretty small. However it was very well-seasoned and succulent. What it lacked in size, it made up for in flavour.

The ๐—›๐—ฎ๐—บ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—˜๐—ด๐—ด ๐—•๐˜‚๐—ป looked unassuming, but it was very tasty as well, thanks in no small part to the fried egg. All three selections proved to be stellar and you canโ€™t really go wrong with any of them.
