So excited that Perch now has a 3-Course Set Menu as part of the Beyond deals! For dessert, you can choose between Salted Cheese Cake or the William Pear Crumble Tart.
The Salted Cheese Cake was pretty good - soft and light, your standard cheesecake done right (poetic huh?). On the side, a marvelous scoop of fior di latte ice cream sitting atop crumble. The ice cream was pure creamy milky goodness, its sweetness a fitting accompaniment to the salty cheesecake. I enjoyed the parmesan tuile beautifully crafted and perched (ha) on top of the ice cream, it reminded me of cheese bread I used to love as a child. Each element of this dish was thoughtfully chosen and paired with each other.
The William Pear Crumble Tart was delicious. It had the right amount of pear and tart, but honestly what stole the show was the lavender ice cream. The ice cream was milky and creamy (similar to the fior di latte), but with an accent of lavender which was not overpowering or artificial tasting. Its floral aroma went perfectly with the fruitiness of the pear tart. Honestly I think even people that don’t typically like lavender might end up enjoying this dish!
This is my second time visiting Perch and their standards have been good. It’s situated along the circumference of the vortex waterfall in Jewel, adding to the ambience of the restaurant - classy but not too formal, allowing for some relaxed dining.
Pricing is typical of a tasteful airport restaurant - but Burpple Beyond’s deals make it very reasonable. You can pick between having 1-for-1 main dishes (if you’re here mon-thurs) or go for the 3-course set. It’s a pretty great deal. I can see myself coming back if I happen to be here.
Thank you Burpple for the invite!
