We decided to get the signature dish at the Konjiki Hototogisu outlet at Great World City - the oyster paitan ramen! While there are no actual oysters served, the restaurant serves the bowl of ramen with oyster paste, which gives the broth a slightly briny taste. This was a pretty nice contrast with the creamy tonkatsu base, made from simmering the broth with pork bones for a really long time! 😋😋 We felt that the best part of the dish was the broth, which turned out to be really rich.

The char siew was pretty tender as well although we were slightly baffled by the use of arugula, which seems like a pretty unconventional vegetable to be used for ramen. For $15.50++, we felt it was rather worth it due to the awesome broth, although the serving size was honestly a little underwhelming... 😰 It was pretty easy to get a seat at the restaurant as well, plausibly because Great World City is a little challenging to get to!
