This is a no name fish soup stall located in the same coffeeshop as the famous Poh Cheu Ang Ku Kueh. There was a long queue at this stall when I was running some errands in the area so I decided to check it out.

The soup stock is subtly sweet yet robust and is distinctly mellower than other stalls. The recipe is apparently a closely guarded secret but is said to be made without the use of fish, pork or chicken bones.

The sliced fish is rather ordinary but their fried fish is excellent. The batter remains amazingly crisp even after being soaked in the soup and the fish remains tender.

I usually give fried fish a miss for health reasons but this is one place where I will gladly give the sliced fish version a miss instead!

P.S. the chilli is really feisty too!
