Master Chicken made its media appearance in Buzzing Hawkers, a variety show aimed to help struggling hawkers regain their footing in the hawker scene. But my recent experience told me that they might want to relook into their ethics in business.
Assuming that it might be more economical to order a Chicken Rice for 2 pax (S$7.00), I went ahead with my order, but what came back was a two plates of rice and a plate of chicken that already did not justify for the listed price. Things got worse when the cashier charged us S$9.00 instead of 7. His justification:
๐ He had given us the thigh, and it is more expensive than other chicken parts. Goodness, we did not even ask for chicken thigh to begin with.
๐ Rice charged separately, at S$0.50 per plate. Seriously, if someone ordered chicken rice for two pax and rice is not part of the deal, then why call it Chicken Rice for 2 pax?
Master Chicken is located in the heartlands of a mature estate. While it is not easy to just expect for everything to be cheap and good, being โdishonestโ would only push customers away, even if the food quality is above average.
With a distasteful experience, I will order something else from this food centre. Diners are spoiled for choice here anyway.
