[Update: They blocked me on Instagram after I gave them feedback 🤡]
I love Burpple Beyond & still do, & this is thankfully by no means the norm, but I get majorly peeved when merchants give an attitude to customers… Such as what I experienced today with Camden Hill's awful service standards & zero attempt any sort of recovery.
It’s not so much the inability to redeem the deals here in itself, but how we were treated & made to feel. Didn’t get the burly male Indian waitstaff’s name, but it doesn’t matter because it’s not like we’ll be back so bye have a good life. When I was clarifying the T&Cs which he snootily pointed me to, he cut me off mid-sentence & said “yes, I KNOW. I was the one who was msging you on WhatsApp last night” - wow rude to not let me finish but ok.
So today we confirm, ladies & gentlemen, pls make a PHONECALL because using your phone to text the mobile number isn’t enough. Because they can’t be arsed to acknowledge or reject the next morning. I admit, it’s last minute on my part, but if he’d explained that to us nicely/professionally, we can accept it.
Oh, & it would’ve been great if you had let me finish my sentence. Basic courtesy & common decency I would think? (May be giving you too much credit Sir - for that I apologize)
Also, while it says that these deals are valid 11AM onwards, it was communicated to us that Burpple Beyond deals AREN'T valid for 11AM-2PM. Just putting this out there so that everyone can be aware. I do hope they act upon my feedback to sort this out with #Burpple to update this in the app. I don't feel it's an efficient way to only reveal this when a phone booking is made.
I really count my blessings that we changed our original decision to patronise Camden Hill for my dad’s birthday on another (earlier) date. They didn’t allow us to pre-order takeaway for collection at Burpple Beyond, which was odd but more importantly quite inconvenient for us, so we changed our plans. Glad this didn’t ruin any special occasion today.
May other diners have a more pleasant experience here, should they choose to make the arduous trek here. & hope they find it worth the effort.
Oh & hey, FYI, your SafeEntry sign has a glaring typo. You might want to fix that too.
