My first Sourbombes.

I ain't no doughnut connoisseur but Sourbombe’s were distinctly less tangy than other sourdough bombolone that I have tried. Texture-wise, the Pistachio Raspberry Rose ($6) I got had a nice chewy bite; relatively light and airy. The chilled raspberry custard was lusciously smooth but the flavour certainly overpowered the rose and pistachio element, in my opinion. The sweetness was just right for me as even with the sugar coat, the tartness of the vibrant filling did help balance the snack. The filling-to-dough ratio was also pretty good.
