April-exclusive collaboration between Melbourne-based Sara (buttermilk pantry) whoโ€™s recipes were a top to try during lockdown and masterchef Gen (sourbombe).

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ ๐‚๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐ข๐š๐ฅ ๐Œ๐š๐ญ๐œ๐ก๐š ๐‹๐š๐ฏ๐š - Definitely for the matcha purists and fans with the rich grassy and umami flavour. Recommend halving it (or getting two ๐Ÿ˜‰) and trying it both warm and cold. Difficult to choose a preference between the oozy matcha lava paired with the firm matcha cookie dough shell and the cold rich & creamy nama-chocolate-like experience.

๐Œ๐ข๐ฌ๐จ ๐“๐š๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ข ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ง๐๐ข๐ž - Savory-sweet fudgey bite that was a good balance of umami miso and nutty sesame. Personally found it a tad too heavy on the palette but loved it in small portions.

๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ค๐ข๐ง ๐‚๐ก๐จ๐œ๐จ๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐ž ๐‚๐ก๐ข๐ฉ ๐Ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐Ž๐ข๐ฅ ๐‚๐š๐ค๐ž - Gen wasnโ€™t lying when she said this was the most moist cake sheโ€™s tried. Packed with flavour from roasted kabocha, olives, dark chocolate, and tangy Yuzu olive glaze. Personally would have preferred for less dark chocolate to better appreciate the natural pumpkin and tea flavour but a delicious cake nonetheless.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ค๐ข๐ง ๐๐ž๐œ๐š๐ง ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐›๐ž - Airy and fluffy donuts generously filled with luscious pumpkin custard. Topped with candied pecans and cream cheese glaze.

๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ž๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐’๐š๐ค๐ž ๐Š๐š๐ฌ๐ฎ ๐‚๐ก๐ž๐ž๐ฌ๐ž๐œ๐š๐ค๐ž ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐›๐ž - Polarizing flavour heavy on the cheese & tang that received divided views among the family.
P.S sake kasu is the by product of rice fermentation in the making of sake

๐‘๐จ๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ ๐๐š๐ง๐š๐ง๐š ๐‚๐š๐ซ๐š๐ฆ๐ž๐ฅ ๐‚๐š๐ค๐ž - Moist and soft banana chocolate cake with distinct rum element.

We also tried the alacarte ๐Œ๐ž๐ฅ๐›๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง๐ž ๐œ๐จ๐จ๐ค๐ข๐ž which was an indulgent mix of espresso chocolate, burnt Australian honey which added a lovely toffee flavour and sticky element, and crunchy roasted macadamia

TLDR: highly recommend getting a box!
