Conveniently packed in individual portions, there are a total of 10 different selections of Chengdu bowls for you to choose from, starting from an affordable price point of $10.60. Inspired by the Hawaiian poke bowls, these Chengdu bowls are not only healthy with its vegetables’ servings, each bowl packs a well-balanced fiery and numbing punch from the Sichuan spices. The base will be made up of either chewy rice noodles, pearl rice or whole-grain brown rice followed by the toppings of your choice. I have tried three of their signatures which include the Chicken with Chilli Mala Bowl ($10.60/$12.80/$14.90), Fatty Beef Mala Xiang Guo Bowl ($10.60/$12.80/$14.90) and Classic Sour Fish Rice Noodle ($10.60/$12.80/$14.90).

Between the three, my favourite will be the diced chicken that has been double fried to have that additional crunch and the fatty beef slices that has been cooked in their in-house concocted sauce. The sour fish unfortunately, was lacking in the tanginess from the suan cai, but overall a very comforting bowl to enjoy, especially when during cold weathers. Besides the proteins, each bowl also contains Sichuan-styled sides such as preserved vegetables, crinkle-cut potato, broccoli and bell peppers to give it a vibrant outlook to whet your appetite from the get-go.
