Laksam is another Kelate dish that you need to try. It is flat rice noodles in fish gravy, to put it in simpler term.
Its kinda like laska but its not. Laksam carry its own unique identity just like laksa have its own too.
Rice roll noodles were not the typical chee cheong fun texture in your mind, although they look kinda similar, but rather it have a chewy texture and thicker in size.
Fish gravy is its unique identity that makes this dish delicious. Thick coconut milk blend with de-bone Mackerel flake. The process of preparing this broth takes up a fair bit of time due to the main ingredient which is the Mackerel, needs to be cooked, de-bone and then flaked it.
Taste wise savoury fishy but its a good one.
Throw in the ulam and add a bit of sambal belacan to give more texture and flavours.
