Unlocked a new achievement last month - visiting Sushi Mieda for their omakase all alone! Well taken care of by the staff and chef, I had a great experience sampling from the seasonal Kikyou lunch menu ($140++). First up, the appetiser was a uber tender crab cake with a soft wedge of daikon and greens served in an umami bonito ankake. The dish was like a hug - warm and comforting. Flavoured with yuzu, the savoury sauce was so good and the brightness of the citrusy element worked so well with the sweetness of the crab cake.
