Taste Affair has changed its menu since the last time I've reviewed it, completely eliminating the decent creamy rice option as well as all pork belly related dishes. The cutlery has been upgraded with the disposable cutlery and bowls getting, well, disposed of in favor of actual metal cutlery and ceramic bowls, in which they serve all of their food in.
I had their tasty rice with prawns and chorizo ($7), and I'm not sure what compelled me to add on a serving of asparagus for an additional $1.50. The tasty rice was reminiscent of paella, albeit drier, and wasn't quite as tasty as its name would suggest. That's where the well seasoned panfried shrimp, sautéed mushrooms, and sliced chorizo stepped in to fill the void.
While sliced a touch too thin, the spicy, savory chorizo made up for it in numbers. The shrimp weren't particularly fresh, but they were undoubtedly delectable thanks to the excellent seasoning they had undergone before being fried. The runny poached egg served to lubricate all the participants with the rich, luscious yolk and gel it all together to form one delicious experience.
The petite portions are still the same as last time, which means that you'll have more than enough room for the stellar Michelin Bib Gourmand curry puffs one floor below.
