Finally the tried the famed jjajangmyeon from Obba Jjajang. Took me a while but I am always repulsed by huge crowds and long waiting times, so I managed to snag a seat by heading there early. Now I know what the hype is over a simple looking bowl of noodles. The flavourful black bean sauce comprised of onions and diced pork. While I was hoping for slightly more meat in the sauce, the onions and other vegetables in the sauce helped to give a good crunch to the noodles. The noodles were chewy and pliant, while the sauce was tangy and on the sweeter side. I aboslutely loved the noodles, and personally thought it was what made the dish so fantastic. While I personally do not like sweet sauces, I thought this was generally quite well-balanced (other than at the end when the black sauce sweetness started to overwhelm). I would definitely come back here to have this again β but I would probably try the spicy flavoured jjajangmyeon just to see if the sweetness is less apparent!
