We won a $50 cash voucher for Chun Qiu Restaurant (春秋菜馆) courtesy of @xindots_sg.

We were not sure what to expect as the restaurant specialises in Shandong cuisine (or 鲁菜) which neither of us have ever tried.

To be honest, I thought we were having Szechuan cuisine when they served the twice cooked pork (回锅肉). The pork belly is first simmered, then sliced and finally stir-fried with green and red chillis, garlic and mushrooms. The twice cooked process keeps the pork belly tender yet caramelised nicely on the outside. We loved the sauce which went really with the meat and the rice.

We also had their griddle cooked tea tree mushrooms (干锅茶树菇). The intense woody and earthy flavours of the mushroom paired with sweet caramelised onions was surprisingly tasty.

Both dishes cost $12 each and as you can see, the portions were huge!
