Then came the Teochew steamed fish(2nd pic), which every table here seems to have an order of. The fresh fish is steamed to a right tender, maintaining its natural sweetness and the accompanying steamed fish gravy tastes as sweet as fish soup itself. No wonder they say a Teochew-style steamed fish done right is amazing. Understood. Can't remember the last time I'd a steamed fish so simple yet excellent.

So was the wok fried white bee hoon, which packed a punch of smoky 'wok hei'. Nothing bad here at all, if not all impressive, though it's slightly out of the way. Very reasonable prices to boot. Best to go in a group, and thankful for the enjoyable, enthusiastic group of foodie friends worth braving the traffic jam for.
