🧀 Da Hong Pao Wonderland ($7) (9.6/10)
This drink comes with a layer of cheese foam and cheese ice cream on top of brown sugar milk tea with pearls. Cheese ice cream is an extremely odd-sounding combination that would either intruige or disgust a person. In my case, I was extremely intruiged and I loved every bit of it. The ice cream has a cheesy taste with a slight saltiness, but does not taste weird at all. It's pretty similar to those cheese biscuits from Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory, with a savoury and salty cheese element that complements the milky-ness of the ice cream base. The milk tea tastes like your standard bubble tea store milk tea, and the pearls are nice and chewy. The cheese elements at the top definitely make this drink pop! I'd say it's my favourite bubble tea drink so far.
🍑 Calpis Triple Peach ($4.60) (8.2/10)
What's calpis? I have no idea either! All I know is that this drink is hella refreshing and made me feel like I'd just finished a marathon (in a good way). It's got a bit of a fruity flavour and a soda-like base, really similar to a slightly fizzy fruit juice or a mild, fresher soft drink.
Now that I'm no longer a Liho virgin, I get the hype. I get why people would spend over $6 on a single drink and why Liho has been dominating every inch of Singapore. Liho, your logo may be pretty sus, but your drinks sure are top notch 🥤
