A unique bubble tea shop located at Upper Changi MRT along the exit leading towards SUTD. This shop sells both spicy and non-spicy meat pie ($2.50) or Rou Bing in chinese, adding a Chinese twist to your typical Bubble Tea shop. The owner was very welcoming in promoting her products. However, as I did not have time to ask her more about the shop, I was only able to find out that the shop has been opened for about 4 months.
The meat pie is pre-made and will be warmed up again on a frying pan before being served on some greaseproof paper. The portion is pretty substantial for $2.50 considering both the size and how thick the dough is. The exterior is thick and chewy while the inside is loaded with pork, scallions and some black bits which I'm not too sure what they are. The taste and texture of chili oil was evident as well though it did make it slightly more oily.
Overall though, it was less oily than ones I've tried in the past probably due to the meat being leaner. There was still lots of flavour from the filling but would have preferred the exterior to be slightly crispier. Delicious and comforting nonetheless.
