At Tensho, just like Kohaku, we get to choose whether we want Original or Spicy tendon sauce to go along with the Mixed Tendon and Vegetable Tendon. Wow the spicy sauce did sent some tingling hotness down our throats but defo not shiok enough for the spicy hot lovers. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

We were served with chawanmushi and miso soup once seated. The chawanmushi is smoother than the ones at Ginza Itsuki but the eggy taste was too subtle and light.

Although the portion is not as hearty as what we enjoy at Ginza Itsuki, the amount of rice was just right to have for lunch on weekdays (to prevent food coma) for people working around the area.

We tried a few tendons in town area and Tensho fares the best in terms of consistency, value for money, food texture, tendon sauce and most importantly, the crispiness and thinness of the batter. ๐Ÿ˜‹

We thought that the sweetness and thickness of the tendon was just right. Also, they didn't try to drown the tempuras and submerge the rice with the sauce. ๐Ÿ‘ Even after the tempuras gradually turned cold towards the end of the meal (Centrepoint's aircon quite strong sia), they remained rather crispy and didn't turn soggy. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Not sure when this started but Ginza Itsuki became a benchmark for tendons in Singapore (of course Jap food in Japan cannot be compared with). Though I still prefer Ginza Itsuki's tendon, I see myself possibly visiting Tensho more often for its accessibility and being a pitshop on shopping days. ๐Ÿ˜Š And we didn't smell like tempuras after walking out the restaurant!
