Finally got to go down to Beauty in the Pot after hearing from friends that it's Hai Di Lao's only possible competitor! Had the Twin Flavours Broth ($25) - Beauty Collagen Broth (Shark’s Cartilage Soup) and Spicy Nourishing Broth (Pork Bone Soup). The collagen broth was possibly one of the best ones we've had in steamboats, so rich and creamy that the ingredients easily soak up all that essence. The nourishing broth which we had at medium spicy paled in comparison. It was easy to drink but lacking an oomph we were craving for.

The Kurobuta Pork ($20, $10 for half portion) was slightly too porky for our liking but one of the must orders is the Fried Beancurd Skin ($10, $5 for half portion)! Dunk it in the boiling soup for 3 seconds and out it comes still crisp but super flavourful. Also, skip the average Fish Paste ($9) and go straight for the Ebiko Prawn Paste ($17) instead. The pops of ebiko bits made it so fun to eat and the fresh prawn paste came out firm and crunchy to the bite! Thumbs up too for the refreshing complimentary Yuzu slushie at the end of the meal.

The collagen broth was no doubt comforting and worth a try but for the whole package of food, service and price? It's still hands down HDL for me! #BurppleXChope
