Ordered the fixed set Suan La Fen ($6.80) where the staff will help you to choose the ingredients inside + vermicelli. The soup was sour, and I loved it as I’m a “Bak Chor Mee add vinegar” kinda person. It was very appetising to me and I finished all the soup!
My only gripe was that it wasn’t spicy enough, and I put some chilli padi inside. I would say that it’s really worth it, and they were really generous with the soup. I did not feel thirsty after finishing up the soup! I also felt that the vermicelli used is a bit different from what I used to. It’s not the kind that breaks apart easily in fish soup, it’s slightly chewy and really delicious in the soup!
Overall, I really loved the place as it’s clean, quiet, and serves really good food. I’ve tried the bone broth as well and loved it as well. Tip: try out their spicy paste sauce, it’s really delicious with the “mala” taste without being too spicy.
