I am usually at West Villa for their signature Dai Gor (or Big Brother) char siew which is said to be named after Jackie Chan. Why Jackie Chan? It is because this is rumoured to be his favourite char siew joint.

West Villa uses pork shoulder for their char siew which is a perfect balance of both fatty and lean. I like the melt in your mouth strip of fats which runs through each slab of char siew.

The char siew is thickly sliced which gives it a great chewy texture. Each bite comes with an intense explosion of flavours.

Their roast goose was also good. Tender, chewy and yet not too gamey. You should also order their double boiled soup. Subtly sweet and full of nutritious goodness.

Prices are a little on the steep side even for Hong Kong but it's definitely worth the while!
